Losing Streak
Well, I’m back from Missouri. The next time I go to Missouri, it will be for good. I drove back to Ohio for the last time on Monday.
I looked at a few apartments in South KC, and I liked what I saw. Now I have to square away a job nearby. Saturday a bunch of people went to Dave & Buster’s for an early surprise birthday party for my sister-in-law. It was fun. I am recovering from some hardcore laser-tag action on Sunday. I hurt my thighs doing a lot of crouching and running at the same time.
Another Sarah is getting married this summer, but I won’t be able to make it. It’s in Wichita on July 7, and that’s a little too far from BG for me to drive for a single purpose.
Well, I have exactly one month left of this town. Time to get the rest of my stuff done. I need to transfer all my files from my zip disks onto a CD. I swear, the BGSU music lab is the only place on the planet that still has zip drives. I have to resave all my old Finale files in the lab so they’re updated on 2004, then resave them again on my laptop on 2006. Why, you ask? Because Finale 2006 won’t recognize any files older than 2004. That is flipping stupid. I may not be able to open any of my older files at all. Then again, it may not be that big of a loss…
I also have to make a few copies of my thesis and bind them at Kinko’s or something. Yeah, I have quite a few similar odd jobs to do that require me using the music lab this month. Somehow, I’m not very time-efficient. I seem to be dragging my feet on anything remotely tedious. I don’t have that much to do, yet I can’t seem to find time for video games! What happened?!
And what’s with the Cardinals losing eight games in a row?!
All right, that’s it. Time to seize the day. I’m going to pop in the ol’ baseball game on the PS2, and make the Cardinals beat the Indians. That will take care of the latter two problems at once. Now, where did I put those cheat codes…
Remember the mantra: baseball and time travel.
Also, just for good measure: rrawlbrwaTIMMAW!!

So last night, I avenged us. I was drinking a little of the Captain while I played a game of America’s pastime on the ol’ PlayStation2. Cardinals vs. Indians.
In the first inning, our man Pujols hit a homer with a man on first. That gave us a good head start. By the sixth inning, however, we had a big scare when Cleveland tied us at 3. Then, in the seventh inning, we made a huuuge comeback, scoring four runs! They scored two more runs in the eighth, and the ninth inning was a pitcher’s duel, so the final score was 7-5 Cards. And I didn’t even use cheat codes!
I’ve only played the game a few times, and this is the first time I’ve actually won, so the victory is that much sweeter. I’m a better pitcher than a batter (in real life, I’m better at sitting in the bleachers and eating hot dogs). At any rate, Captain Morgan exponentially improves the baseball experience. Some time this summer, I need to see a game at the new Busch stadium. Maybe I’ll even lower myself to drinking beer.
