Into the West
I moved out of my office for good yesterday, and I turned in my key first thing this morning. And by first thing, I mean when I got up at 11. Amidst all the festivities today, I found time to buy Logic Pro 7 at the union bookstore. Went out for coffee, then a graduation party. Said more goodbyes, and more to come later. I thought I’d be more sentimental about all this, but I’m not at all. It’s hardly a bittersweet day; I just feel relieved.
People come and go, and the most anyone can do is to make a positive impression on others’ lives. Now we’re all going our separate ways; that is the way of things.
What can you see on the horizon? Why do the white gulls call?
I myself will be making my big move in a couple months. Time to start thinking about the next chapter. When I ride off into the sunset, how far will I go into the west? Kansas City? Probably not California. As far west as Sydney? Canberra? Melbourne? Brisbane?
I guess the only question is how far west the winds will take me. I think Bilbo Baggins said it best: “I think I’m quite ready for another adventure!”
Across the sea, a pale moon rises…
Wander, my friends.

Godspeed my friend, you should consider the pacific northwest. Wait. . . we still need to have a hardcore Advent Children session. F*** goodbyes, Midgar calls!
