The First Transport is Away

I’m blogging from the house in Overland Park. I just brought a load of my crap over in my car. I might make another run tonight, too. Justin and Melissa McAninch (of The Mojo Dojo fame) will be coming up in two Saturdays with a van to help me move furniture. Until then, I will be living in two places at once. That’s going to be interesting…

How can a person possibly be in two places at once? Well, I borrowed a little something from Dumbledore to help me on that one…

So you went south, eh? You couldn't come north where the cooler, slightly less pretentious people are, could you?

Well it's a good thing your ion cannon still functions.

That's what she said.

Slightly less pretentious... hmmm... well, I think if you live up north, that pretty much throws off your whole theory, doesn't it now?

Dean was explaining to me why I might like supplanting the Plaza with Westport. He said, "I think Westport would be more your thing. Yeah, it's the artsy-pretentious area, but it's better than yuppie-pretentious."

Yeah, I don't mind sticking out in a pretentious neighborhood as much as I do sticking out in a crime-infested one. At least no one in Overland Park is interested in stealing my bald tires.

Yeah, but we don't live in the "yuppie pretentious" area of Liberty. We live in the old part of town near the square. I'm grateful that here in our immediate neighborhood the houses are all different.

So if you deviate from the "rustic asthetic" of the neighborhood, will your house blow up?

I watched Hot Fuzz.

Have you ever wondered why, why the crime rate in Sandford is so low, yet the accident rate is so high?

Before you could say 'gypsy scum' we were knee-deep in dog muck, thieving kids and crusty jugglers.

Hm... my theory seems to be proving itself. A short post tend to generate comments, and those comments aren't necessarily relevent to anything.

I'm telling you. Zombie horses, man. Think about it. It's like you said, you can't very well have a zombie horse sneak up on you. I mean, you can't be putting milk back in the fridge, turn around, and be mauled by a brain-hungry, undead equus. That's what makes it so AWESOME!! Nobody EXPECTS IT!!

You're watching TV at night, and a freakin' ZOMBIE HORSE is watching from the bushes outside your window, with its decayed, red eyes... waiting for you to go to bed...

This Halloween... saddle up for sheer terror...

Now that I think about it, this sounds like one of Butters' attempts to conceive of something not already pioneered by The Simpsons.

Simpsons did it!!

Fritz usually doesn't get home until 11 or so on Wednesdays, so you've got plenty of time if you want to go get more crap.

All right, I'll play your little game. But I'm not a performance monkey, nor am I a blog assassin.

P.S. If your new roomie wrote that comment when he was sitting next to you, then, well, that's awesome.

Actually, upon seeing the increase in comments to this post, my reaction has been consistently Captain-esque (incredulous annoyance?): "Damn it!"

I keep thinking, "If you really want me to cut down on the frivolous material, you have to actually wait for something worthwhile to happen. Interesting and meaningful experiences don't follow me around anymore. Don't blame me for all the drivel."

Funny how you people complain that I'm a slacker when I don't post for more than three days, then complain when I do post.
