A Tempest Loomed
The hourglass is broken now,
Its quicksand scattered about.
Two horsemen tried to fix it--
Their names were Famine, Drought.
The court was filled with merry men.
The bard, he played a somber tune
As the master drank more wine;
The others would be joining soon.
“Do we stay and see it through?”
Said the captain with a frown.
The bard just smiled and carried on
As rain came pouring down.
Shepherds, barons, mice and men--
They all cried, “Let us play!”
Time was running shorter still,
And few would see the light of day.
A tempest loomed not far ahead,
Though drowned out by the din;
The party quickly grew beyond
What was a pardoned sin.
The bard had seen them gather clouds
And watched while none paid heed;
The wise man saved a boy from harm
By breaking every creed.
Thunder clapped above the crowd,
The wasteland groaned below;
The jester killed the honest scribe
So fear could never show.
The bell began to toll for all
Amidst their mighty thrashes;
The few who understood were spared
By every other’s ashes.

I wrote an orchestral tone poem based on this last night. But I had to trash it after I became so depressed I nearly used to score to paper-cut myself to death.
w.v.: ancenti
ancenti: the predecessors to the Illuminati. Their sect was destroyed in the wars between the Baptists and the Anabaptists in 1554. Their last Grand Poobah, Heironymous Gluteus Vicker was beheaded by none other than Jean Calvin himself. According to legend Calvin uttered his catchphrase, "God save THIS!" while hacking the Poobah Vicker to bits.

Had to chuck the tone poem, eh? You know, I don't see that as a loss...
Now, if you had been inspired to compose a Broadway-style musical, that's another thing entirely. Like Mamma Mia! or something. Now that's throat slashing material!
Wilemi: Fanatical devotees of William J. "Willem" Dafoe whose short-lived cult met its grisly demise when the sole four members were unable to simultaneously reconcile Dafoe's roles of Jesus, Paul Smecker, and that super creepy vampire dude from Platoon that flew around on the Green Goblin's hover whatsit.
