Dementia

Well, I can’t believe it’s been two and a half years since Bowling Green. I miss a lot of people from there, but time flies when you’re living the dream. Indeed, since then I have been fairly successful, composing film scores and building a musical community here in Kansas City. The Shrine of Vogler is almost finished, too. Everything is peachy. My new HD flatscreen looks darn good in the living room of my house here in Armour Hills, where Robot Hilda and I have been hosting a lot of drinking marathons. 2008 has treated me very well, and I can’t imagine a better place to be at this stage in my life. Yep, life is good. Who knew that things could be so nice, that good things could come so easily? It’s so cozy and warm outside…

It reminds me of an old gag we had back at BG… what if all Panera Breads of the world were connected by teleportation devices in the restrooms? Think how easy travel would be. Robot Hilda and I are working on a way to engineer that. Soccer balls still work just as well as they did two Septembers ago, but I’m still not trying to imitate anything. All I meant was that I liked the pen. If Red Faction III was a pony, I’d ride it all the way to Mars. Why? Because you, my friend, are more than enough to keep up with. So keep emailing, for I have heard the cries of the carrots. You see, Reverend Maynard… those creepy bunnies will return, but before I do? That remains to be seen, so place all your bets here! Just ask youself, “What would Jared do?” And then, what I need you to ask Ira is, “What’s a Russian gunship doing here?” Don’t forget who the real Angel of Instigation is. None of this would have happened if they hadn’t discontinued Excedrin Quick Tabs. X-Rays cost a lot of money, after all. Thanks for playing. As the good Captain once said, “That’s why they call me the Captain!” Babel was a tower, you idiot.

I wonder what this button does...

An Airdancer (sometimes called a "skydancer", "windyman" or "flyguy") is a large inflatable device consisting of a long tubelike sleeve attached to a powered fan blower, which causes the sleeve to move in a dancing or flailing motion. Simple Airdancers resemble a vertical tube, but variants resembling humans with tube "arms" are also common. Airdancers are generally about 20 feet in total height and are often used as attention-getters for businesses such as car dealerships.

Kobayashi Maru is the name of a spaceship in a training exercise in the Star Trek fictional universe. In the exercise, the "Kobayashi Maru" is the precipitating element in a simulated no-win scenario. The ship's name is occasionally used among Star Trek fans or those familiar with the series to describe such situations.
The Kobayashi Maru test was first depicted in the opening scene of the film Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, in which command division cadets at Starfleet Academy are presented with a no-win scenario as a test of character. This provided context for how the main character, Admiral James T. Kirk, deals with the possibility of unwinnable situations, and death in particular.
The training exercise in Star Trek II describes the Kobayashi Maru as a Class III neutronic fuel carrier-ship, commanded by Kojiro Vance, with 81 crewmembers and 300 passengers. The name is Japanese, and loosely translates as the ship named Kobayashi, with Kobayashi (小林) meaning small forest and being a common family name. Maru (丸) is a common suffix for Japanese ship names.
