No theory. Just passive-aggressive contempt. The Captain's contribution/retort was about as clever as it's going to get. He imitates my concise statement exactly, while still leaving it open to be interpreted several ways:
1) He doesn't think much of this new trend, and he's showing it in his own passive-aggressive way. 2) He's simply catching on and running with it. 3) He is simply informing me of the completion of the awesomeness that is Halo 3. 4) He is secretly the person behind this blog. 5) He is the only person to whom this post pertains, but instead of going into a review of the games, he confines his male bonding to the same simplicity as my original statement, thereby not expressing too much interest in detail. He suspects that this post was an experiment to generate extensive comments, but he doesn't want to take the bait. No, he's saying, "It's your move. I can talk. But you have to make me want to do it."
