Festival of the Little Hills

After spending a week at my brother’s house, I went back home for a couple days, now I’m back at Jon’s. The barbecue last Saturday was great. This Saturday is the annual Festival of the Little Hills, for which I helped set up the ice cream stand his church runs every year. I’ll probably be here until Monday. Tuesday, I am planning on going to Kansas City. I scored an interview with one place, which may line up on Wednesday. On the other hand, I got a rejection email from another place. I guess it balances out.

I’ve been listening to the soundtrack to Firefly, which I purchased shortly before leaving Bowling Green. It’s really growing on me. I think it was Reed who recommended it to me, but I could be wrong there. I’ve never seen the show, but the movie, Serenity, looks like it might be worth checking out.

I really have nothing to post about.

Therefore… time for an irrelevant tangent.

Listening to Dead Man’s Chest in my car, I started thinking about how America seems to have a fetish for trilogies (franchises generally stop at three installments, or go downhill after that… generally). Then I started thinking how I like a good franchise and don’t mind even the shamelessly commercial sequels… if it’s done right and doesn’t crap all over the previous stories. I listed all the movies we can look forward to—most of which will probably even be released in 2007. All of the following are pretty much guaranteed to happen:

Pirates of the Caribbean: (untitled trilogy conclusion)
The Bourne Ultimatum
Spider-Man 3
X-Men 4 (untitled… not even really conceived of yet)
Wolverine
Magneto
Terminator 4
Jurassic Park 4
Indiana Jones and the Ravages of Time (working title)
The Chronicles of Narnia: (which one is second?)
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
The Punisher 2
Star Trek: (untitled)
Casino Royale
The Dark Knight

Did I leave anything out worth looking forward to?

I didn't actually post that at 1:17 AM. My blog settings are still on Eastern time, and I haven't changed it yet... I need to figure out how to do that.

i'm looking forward to Halo...and the hobbit (if that ever happens.)

i still haven't checked out the battlestar galactica music, or any of the episodes.

i'm waiting for my birthday to get the "miniseries". i have seasons 1 and 2, but the miniseries comes first.

oh yeah, and what about the next new superman?

Oh yeah! I forgot about Halo.

After I posted, my brother informed me that the reason they took so long picking an actor to be the new Superman was because they were going to sign him on for three films.

So, we'll add those to the list.

And I'm obsessed with the second season score to Battlestar Galactica. Counting the miniseries, that's three CDs of music I have to enjoy.

Hopefully, eventually, they'll make a movie of The Flash.

I never saw the first one, so I didn't count it. But I did know it was going to be a trilogy. Again with the trilogies, you see.
