Adventurous Spirit

One of the things that roped me into film music as a kid was the adventurous spirit of the orchestra. This is obviously limited to the "adventure" genre of film, but it was the stepping stone a vast universe of music.

I recommend these film scores for their sheer entertainment value. These are great for "spring fever," cruising around, and riding four-wheelers across the countryside.

Stargate (David Arnold)
Waterworld (James Newton Howard)
Willow (James Horner)
Raiders of the Lost Ark (John Williams)
Back to the Future Part II / III (Alan Silvestri)

Again, the list could go on, but these are great examples of youthful enjoyment. (Back when listening to music was fun. Before academia sucked out all the pleasure and replaced it with bitter, fruitless arguments.)

Adventure... excitement... a Jedi craves not these things.

I would say that I have to agree with all of these. I would also like to add Superman to the list. Good driving music, too. It's what got me hooked into film music.
