Furniture
This weekend went about as expected. I assisted in the epic furniture-procurement, then we finished remodeling the living room while finding time to watch Prisoner of Azkaban and Goblet of Fire. Now I’m ready for Order of the Phoenix.
I also bought fireworks. Stuff got blowed up real good.
Josh Kalichman is going to arrive here tomorrow night. He’s spending a week in Kansas City… can you imagine how much damage we can do in a whole week?!
It occurred to me, while on the road, that the interstate transit is becoming almost better than these events themselves. I guess the older you get, the fewer and fewer things you have to live for. Yup, that about sums it up. On the road, you can listen to a ten-year-old car chase cue while imagining how much fun the coming few days might be, but probably won’t. Maybe it’s the anticipation of anticipation itself. Maybe it’s the escapism of being on the open road instead of in an office without natural light. Maybe it’s the evocation of good times past. Whatever it is, it needs to happen more. I’m beginning to understand why many businessmen are obsessed with sailing, kayaking, climbing, and other such anti-office activities. They’re trying to regain a piece of their souls.
Wow, I’m depressed now. What a Monday.
